Work Experience
Board Certified Diagnostic Radiologist
Dr. Powers has completed college, medical school, internship, residency and fellowship training and is not only a licensed M.D., but a specialist in Diagnostic Radiology, Board Certified by the American Board of Radiology.

Federal Government Certified B-Reader
As a specialist in Diagnostic Radiology, Dr. Powers has taken additional training and testing in the interpretation of imaging studies of individuals exposed to occupational dusts and fibers and has been certified by the Federal Government as a "B-Reader" (Note that an "A-Reader" is a lesser degree of certification than a "B-Reader"). Dr. Powers was certified in 1984 and has recertified every time required of him since, in 1988, 1992, 1996, 2000, 2004, 2008, 2012 and 2016. He has extensive experience including rendering diagnoses in tens of thousands of chest x-rays, supine and prone spiral CT and supine and prone HRCT scans. His CT/HRCT experience dates back to the beginning of when CT was first used routinely for occupational dust and fiber exposure in the 1980s.

National Reach
Dr. Powers is licensed to practice medicine and is a Board Certified Specialist in Diagnostic Radiology with an additional Federal Certification as a B-Reader. He has built an extensive practice providing diagnostic imaging consultation services and second opinions nationwide.
No matter where in the country you are, Dr. Powers is able to analyze and report on the occupational dust and fiber exposure findings seen on imaging studies. He will back up his opinions in reports to lawyers, corporations and government agencies, and in deposition and at jury trials. His expertise in the diagnosis of image findings in occupaional lung disease has been utilized in cases ranging from corporations, such as Johns Manville, screening large numbers of exposed workers, to various unions, screening their members, to attorneys reviewing individual or group clients, to evaluation of janitorial and school maintenance personnel, prison guards, as well as individuals, asbestos abatement workers, government, ex-military, chemical, sugar refinery, ship and mechanic workers' screenings. He has testified in deposition and at trial regarding individuals and grouped clients.
